5 reasons why we should move more.

Many of us believe that if we exercise on a regular basis we will be able to maintain our current weight. But that’s not always the case especially when we reach 40 and above.  Diet and lifestyle are also important factors in maintaining or lowering our weight.

But what many people don’t realize that moving more has even more impact on our body that just losing a few pounds.

1. Maintain muscle and joint strength

By moving more, we strengthen the muscles in our body.  When we put gradual stress on our bodies, we build muscles and strengthen the joints.

2. Working out updates your awareness of what u need to do

Each time we bend, squat, lunge, push, pull or twist, our body has a way of doing this.  The better our movement, the stronger we are at moving and less chance of injuring ourselves.  By moving more allows our bodies not to forget what its like to move.  Ever bent down to pick something up and felt a twinge for no reason?  Its time to go to work on moving more and better

3. Mental Health

It’s a proven fact that exercise lifts our mood. It releases endorphins. 

4. Organ function

The more we move, the more our organs function better.  For example, when we move out legs and lower part of our abdomen, we stimulate our bowel to eliminate waste effectively

5. Mental Health

A fitness study was done on children to see how exercise impacts their happiness and scores at school.  It was found that kids who exercised were happier and improved in their school work.
