Taivo was born in Estonia and has a bachelor degree in Health Sciences and Physical Education.
From an early age one of his obsessions was sport and he has been an amateur athlete for most of his life in the disciplines of basketball, football and athletics. He was also the Estonian full marathon champion at age 17 at running when overtraining caused him to find a new love in the form of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA.
He is currently testing different training methods; mostly involving joint mobility and overall physical and mental health. Most of his studies involve behavioural change, an understanding of human behaviour, critical thinking theories and nutrition.
He has trained windsurfers for most of his life, and conducted strength and conditioning training for them for seven years. He was chosen to be the Under 15s National Team Coach in 2010 and two of his adult students participated in the London Olympic Games in 2012.
He has worked with people aged 3.5 yrs to 55 years old; with children who want to play up to people who want to train for the biggest sporting event in the world.
Taivo’s name is German-Estonian for ‘tuner’, which is perfect as one of his other obsessions in life is music. He has played trombone in different orchestras and big bands over the past 15 years and has also composed hip-hop and reggae.
