Taivo Stimmer is EPT’s corrective exercise specialist. He talks here about the things that matter most to him:
Why did you become a personal trainer?
I worked in competitive sports, initially, but I also wanted to help regular people with issues such as obesity, mental stress, and helping clients to decipher information about how to train and what to eat. It was then a natural progression that I became a personal trainer.
What gets you up in the morning?
Knowing that I can enrich other people's lives gets me up in the morning! People come to me after they have been suffering with pain, often for a number of years. Being able to help them means they can move with much less pain than before.
What interests you?
I love helping people achieve their goals, whatever it may be. Perhaps goals that they never knew they had, before working out, sometimes just to be pain free
Things to look for in a personal trainer.
It’s important to be positive, to be a good coach, to really listen to your clients, and also to be able to prove that you can get results.
