The trouble with our day and age, is that we see food as the enemy. It’s vilified for ‘making us fat’. We feel guilty for wanting the ice cream that is so powerfully marketed to us. There is so much processed food around and let’s be honest, most of us do not have an occupation or lifestyle as active as our ancestors did 100 years ago. Most of us rarely think about nutritional value we think about what tastes good.
We’ve also been fed a lot of misinformation from various sources around the world, over the last 40-50 years. For example, how many of us have bought ‘low fat’ or ‘skimmed’ in our lifetime, thinking we were doing our health a favour? I know I certainly have.**
There are so many diets available. Which one should you choose?
I prefer the no diet diet. The one where you are pretty much eating the same way every day; natural food that doesn’t derive from a packet or a factory. Nothing low fat. Good fat is good. Vegetables are good. You can refine it further, but eating like this, will keep you in pretty good health for the rest of your life.
